Raghuram Rajan, while addressing B-School students had some inspiring words to say to them at an RBI competition held recently in Mumbai.
“There is tremendous space for you to exert your independence in our country despite all pressures. Of course, you have to articulate why you are using your independence the way that you are using,” Rajan said.
The Governor also spoke about on the Panama Papers leak to the Indian Express, “We are obviously part of the investigative team that is going to look into this matter. It is important to note that there are legitimate reasons to have accounts outside,” he said.
The RBI is a part of the multi-agency group that has been announced by the government to probe the Panama Papers list which has named 500 Indians including celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai.
